Technology Award from State of Ohio Department of Development The award was presented to Dr. Larry Dosser, President & CEO of MLPC, by Governor Bob Taft. The award honors MLPC for the valuable progress it is making in the advancement of laser-based microfabrication technology in the commercial and defense marketplace.

Dr. Larry Dosser, President & CEO of MLPC, is a board member of the Laser Institute of America which sponsors the International Congress for the Application of Lasers and Electro-Optics (ICALEO). Dr. Dosser participated in a short-course on milisecond to femtosecond laser processing and presented a paper on Non-Destructive Evaluation of Laser Micromachined Silicon.

Mound Laser & Photonics Center, Inc. has issued its first quarterly newsletter to keep customers and potential customers up to date on company activities.

Dr. Larry Dosser, President & CEO of MLPC, is a founding member of the Ohio Optics Consortium (OOC) whose mission is to forge partnerships and foster professional development to expand optical technology in Ohio. In addition to being a founding member, MLPC is corporate sponsor of the OOC and is firmly committed to increasing high technology jobs in the Miami Valley.

Mound Laser and Photonics Center, Inc. is continuing to develop and innovate new applications in the area of laser microfabrication. As a result of this development, MLPC will be putting out a quarterly newsletter to provide an update of the research and development activities within the company.

Mound Laser and Photonics Center, Inc. is now offering laser welding job shop and R&D services. MLPC has purchased a 220W Lasag laser welding system with fully integrated four axis workstation. Laser welding compliments the microfabrication capability being developed at MLPC.

In the article, Dr. Larry Dosser, President & CEO of MLPC, discusses the advantages of using solid-state lasers in micromachining applications.

The new Web site provides a fast and convenient method for customers and prospective customers to gain valuable information regarding MLPC. The site also provides fast and easy methods for contacting MLPC with application questions and general information regarding the company.

Dr. Larry Dosser, President & CEO of Mound Laser & Photonics Center Inc., announces that he has purchased the company from its parent, Laser Fare Inc. The company, which is active in the field of microprocessing, will expand its activities in microwelding and micromachining with the addition of a state-of-the-art micromachining system and by expanding its staff to further serve customers for laser marking and engraving applications.
